Hand-painting. Ombré. Balayage. Shadow root.

by Lensi White

Hand-painting. Ombré. Balayage. Shadow root.  All hair color techniques. They are here to stay. Not just trends of the month anymore. They have been strong for quite a few years now, just subtly changing each season.

For winter, richening up dark browns is the way to go. Do this by adding subtle hand-painted caramels to that chocolate brown for the perfect way to say, fall is in the air! There are many techniques, but baby lights for dark rich hair is a perfect match. To spice things up, brighten a few pieces closest to the face. It will contour the face and hair!

We achieved this chocolatey goodness by balayaging caramel into the brown background.

For those blondes, who says we have to lowlight you for winter? Not anymore! This winter choose icy cool blondes! Add a shadow root to make sure you stay on trend. Plus the shadow root gives just the perfect amount of depth for those icy tones. It also tones down that summery blonde and is the perfect addition to your winter wardrobe.

We achieved this icy blonde with hand-painting blonde all over. Then came back with a shadow root to soften.
