noun con·nec·tion \kə-ˈnek-shən\
something that joins or connects two or more things
Connection is simple to define, but often difficult to execute in today’s world. We are seemingly OVER connected, with the overuse of social media; but real, deep and meaningful connection is often lacking.
I believe that every healthy business needs a balance of personal and social connection with both their internal and external clients. Internal clients are your staff, and providing them with authentic personal connection will deepen their loyalty to your brand which ensures your external client (your customers) will be well taken care of.
In addition, staying true to who you are with your social connections is also vital to the health of your business. You are your businesses voice, and that voice is amplified through the microphone of your social media outlets. Direct that narrative with the business initiatives you want to see implemented in your salon. Target your message to your ideal client and market to that person intentionally. Make sure that no detail is overlooked from your font, to your color scheme and how frequent you want to post. Also, make sure to choose which outlets best match your brand. Don’t feel like you have to man every single social media outlet available. Do the ones that match your brand and do them well.
If your business consistently and intentionally connects with both your internal and external clients through both personal and social connections, you are setting yourself up for great success with deep buy-in from all angles!
