3 Words That Make Hiring & Firing a Total Snap

How often as salon owners and managers do we agonize over making personnel decisions?  Have you ever kept an employee knowing full well that they just don’t “get you”?  What about interviewing a potential employee 3, 4 even 5 times in search of something to serve as a confirmation that they’re the right choice for your salon? Those choices are pivotal to our long-term success and can be so incredibly hard to make.

want to share with you the 3 words we use when making these decisions: 

Wondering what those words have to do with hiring and firing?  Simply put, these are our salon values.  Everything we believe, do and speak can be traced back to these three words.  Our employees know that these 3 values define our personal business standards and exactly what is most important to us. 

I can’t stress enough the importance of defining your values and impressing them upon your staff.  Going through the exercise of establishing your values then explaining them to your staff is the single-most powerful thing you can do to establish a cohesive team rather than a group of individuals.  Why?  Because once they understand what you value, they are then able to definitively decide if they're the right fit for your business.  It doesn't get much easier than your employees making that decision for themselves (and for you)!
